Market Research - Paid Focus Groups

Woo Hoo! I'm so excited! I qualified for a Market Research Focus Group today. It's been a long time since I've qualified for one. This one pays $100 for 2 hours of time.  Read on to see how to find out if you may qualify for this study also...that is if you're a local reader.

Are you familiar with Market Research/Focus Groups?  Just like with online surveys, a company uses a Market Research company to collect information, thoughts and opinions about a product or idea they are developing.  In a lot of cases that information is gathered in the form of a focus group ... several people around a table sharing ideas.  Sometimes a study can be centered around a take home product.  Pick up a product, use the product, fill out and return a survey.  I've done a few studies where I am observed as I walk through a mock grocery store.  Someone is watching what I pick up and stop to read. 

I am registered with a few different companies. I get phone calls and emails with screeners for upcoming studies.  The answers to the screener questions determine who is asked to participate in the study/focus group. 

The best part of Market Research Studies and Focus Groups is that they pay quite well and in most cases they pay right there at the study site.  No waiting for a check or to reach enough points to cash out.

On to the Focus Group that I mentioned above ....

Here are the details ...
Assistance in Marketing (AIM) is looking for women ages 25-58 who enjoy baking from scratch or ready to bake products. You must have internet access and be comfortable using the computer. 
This 2 hour study is May 6th or 7th at AIM and pays $100.  The pre-study homework will be baking something and then posting about the baking experience on a blog site that will be provided to you.

My Survey -- Great Survey Site!

Have you started taking and earning with online surveys?  Did you set up a separate email account for your survey invitations?  Last night I spent about an hour going through my survey email account.  Four of the surveys I took were with My Survey.

My Survey is another one of my favorite survey sites.  It may have been the first or second site I started taking surveys with.  Most (if not all) of the surveys offered by My Survey start with a short screener.  I like that they give points for answering the screener questions and then tell you if you qualify for a longer survey worth more points.  I get a few survey offers a week. 

My Survey points can be used to buy things from a long list of available items.  My favorites of course are Amazon Gift Cards and Paypal cash.  I'm using survey earnings towards this years Christmas savings.

This is another survey site that I receive surveys from on a regular basis.  Earn points taking surveys. Earn with Lightspeed Consumer Panel

Stockpiling, couponing and saving money on the things you already buy are all great ways to add to your household's bottom line.  Taking surveys online is another.  Your opinions, thoughts and feelings really matter in the development, design and re-design of any and every product and service out there.  Companies are willing to pay you for that information.  Lightspeed Consumer Panel is one of my favorite online survey companies. 

Taking online surveys isn't a way to get rich quick .... but is an easy way to earn a little extra. There are many survey sites.  I would never recommend paying for a list of sites or paying to sign up with a survey site.  There are so many out there that you can sign up with for free.  Some companies pay by check when you've accumulated enough points.  Lightspeed, much like Swagbucks, has a whole list of things you can buy with Lightspeed Points.  I have saved up my Lightspeed points to "buy" restaurant gift cards for teacher's gifts the last 2 years for Christmas. 

If you are new to online surveys (or even if you're not) I would highly recommend setting up a "Survey" email account.  Use this email address when signing up with new survey companies.  Do this for 2 reasons.  First don't clog your personal email address with survey offers.  Second, I like being able to log into my survey email account and just do survey after survey without the distraction of other emails.

Once your Survey email account is set up, sign up with Lightspeed and watch for the survey offers to start coming in!  Some weeks I see more surveys than others.  Most start with a short screener before the actual survey so you won't qualify for them all. 

Oh and don't forget about Roboform too!  It will make signing up with Survey companies ... and even some parts of surveys so much easier!!

My Points

Most of what I post about are ways to save money .... but how about a way to earn?  I am registered with several online survey companies.  Just like my "Deals" Account, I also have an email account for my surveys too. 

My Points is a little different than other survey sites in that there are more ways to save than just taking surveys.  My favorite way to earn with My Points is by reading emails.  That's right you can be rewarded points just for reading emails from My Points.  I often do this while I'm talking on the phone.  It takes just a second.  Most of the time you get 5 points just for reading the email and clicking through to an advertisers website.  If you take advantage of any of the offers you can earn more points too.  The points don't accumulate quickly but over time they add up.

The surveys I get from My Points earn points too.  I like that I get a small number of points even if I don't qualify for the survey.  Of course if I do qualify I get more points.

Another way to earn points is by starting at My Points and then clicking through the shop option to find online retailers you were going to shop with anyway.  The rewards vary by merchant.

The last few years I have used the points in My Points accounts to get Gift Cards to use as teacher's Christmas Gifts.  So really My Points is a way to save and earn!
