Menu Plan Monday

Since the end of last week brought some changes to our plans, you'll see a few meals from last week on this week's plan.  Homemade Pizza is one of those meals.  In fact you may have noticed that Homemade Pizza is on our Menu Plan most weeks.  Take out pizza was a regular thing for us until a few years ago when I learned that making pizza at home is not hard. The crust scared me ... that was before I even considered making homemade bread ... and pizza crust is kind of like bread, right?

Here's the recipe I use for Pizza Crust
2 1/4 cups Flour
2 1/4 tsp Yeast
1 Tblsp Oil
1 tsp Sugar
1 1/4 Cups Warm Water

I have a Kitchen Aid Stand mixer so I put all the ingredients (in no particular order) into the bowl and use the dough hook to mix it up.  I'm sure it could be mixed by hand and then kneaded some if you don't have a stand mixer.  Let rise for at least a 1/2 hour, roll out and top.

We like to top our pizzas with everything from traditional red sauce with veggies and sausage or pepperoni to BBQ sauce or Hot Sauce and chicken.  We've even used Alfredo sauce with shrimp & veggies.  That's the beauty of making your own pizza's ... the toppings are all up to your tastes and  imagination.

Preheat your oven to 425.  Baking time varies depending on how thin or thick you roll out your crust.  I'd say 12-15 minutes is a good guess.

In a pinch I've also used Artisan Free Form Bread dough from my fridge for pizza crust too!

What are your favorite pizza toppings?
