Menu Plan Monday

Last week shows that a Menu Plan is just a plan ... and we didn't stick to ours hardly at all.  Monday we were supposed to have Tortellini Soup, but I had a terrible case of cabin fever!  We took a Restaurant.com Gift Certificate and headed to meet friends at Champ's for 1/2 Price Burgers and Kids Eat Free Monday's.  So we had the Tortellini Soup on Tuesday instead.  Tuesday's planned dinner of Sausage Green Beans and Potatoes has been pushed back to the next week several weeks in a row now.  Hmmm .... Maybe I'll leave it off a Menu Plan for awhile.  Obviously it's not a dinner that I've been looking forward to.  Wednesday and Thursday I stayed on track with my Menu Plan.  Friday night I went to a coupon class that my aunt was teaching at her church.  The afternoon got away from me and dinner didn't get made soon enough.  Luckily there were quite a bit of leftovers in the fridge.  I need to plan a leftover night occasionally anyway ... I hate throwing food away!  We had the Chicken Noodle Soup planned for Friday on Saturday instead.  And Sunday ...  We got together with some friends on Saturday night.  They were talking about an AMAZING dinner they had planned for Sunday.  Steaks and salad and Creme Brulee ..... I'm off to the store to get steaks for us and our GREAT friends are sharing the rest of the their meal with us too!  I have no willpower when it comes to a good steak dinner.

So why am I telling you all of this .... A Menu Plan is a great tool but not a rule.  Make a Menu Plan to make life easier ... then let life happen too!

We have a busy week coming up.  I'm hoping to stick to the plan for the few nights that we will be home.  We'll see....

5 days of no cooking for you? Oh, what will you do with all that extra time;)I'm more than a little jealous.

If only that extra time meant nothing to do. LOL! Of course there really isn't such a thing as extra time.
