I just used Hotwire.com to book a hotel in Chicago for a late anniversary trip that my hubby and I are taking soon. I didn't know about their newsletter at the time. We went to the site, searched for hotels using our location and Star Rating preferences. The catch is that when the list comes up you can see the price per night, the distance in miles (or tenths of miles) from your location request BUT you don't see the hotel names or exact addresses. That information is not revealed until you reserve and pay for your hotel. We searched using the Magnificent Mile and a 4 Star Rating (the highest rating.) We were happy to get a nice hotel at one end of the strip for just $73 a night. The best rate I could get at the hotels own website was $134 a night. That's almost 50% off!! And to make it even better it turns out that a friend of mine has stayed there and said that it's a very nice hotel!
I wonder what kind of great deals come in the Hotwire.com emails??
