Help for Haiti

Crystal at Money Saving Mom made a request for help that came to me at just the right time.  In my world of busyness and always being in the middle of something, I am very dependent on my Tivo.   That means though that I have watched very little of the TV coverage of the Earthquake in Haiti.  Just today I was reading the headlines on my internet homepage about the "Logistical Nightmare" of getting help to the people of Haiti.  I can't begin to fathom the degree of devastation....

It's easy for me to get stuck in the mentality of  "How much can I .... one person .... really help?"  But this time I'm not going to stay stuck there.  I want to do something .... no matter how big or small ... to help.  In my short time as part of the blogging community I have been so impressed at the sense of community among bloggers.  We all, blogger or not, work so hard to save/earn money.  It's times like this that our savings can be put to good use.

What can you do to help?  Crystal at Money Saving Mom is challenging bloggers from all over to get in on the effort to help. She and her husband have decided to donate $10.00 to Compassion for every blogger who posts about their action to help.  They also have committed to donate $.30 to Numana for every comment left her readers telling of the way they are helping.

She is adding to the relief effort by challenging other bloggers to take similar action.  So here is my challenge to you.... If you have a Blog leave a link to your post that shares what you are doing to help. Tim and I have talked and agreed that for every person who links up we will donate $1.00 to The American Red Cross. Be sure to visit other Blogs that are linked up here to add your link there too.  If you don't have a blog, leave me a comment about what you specifically did to help.  For every comment left we will add $1.00 to our total donation.  We've set aside up to $200 from our monthly budget.  I want this be my first post that gets lots and lots of comments!

Thanks Money Saving Mom for your inspiration and all that you do!

As I go through the blogosphere today, I amazed at the generous and concerned people I find. Praise the Lord!
Our family is sending up prayers to the One who can do the most!!
Our church also took and sent contributions in.
My heart breaks especially for the little ones affected. We truly are blessed and I am thankful that we are able to bless others in return!

thank you. I will be sharing heartwarming stories that bring hope and a sense of togetherness and friendship for those who are lost and/or suffering; we all can be that friend, that someone who can make a difference, if only we look a little deeper, and dare to think a little greater... in loving memory of ga

We give weekly to a couple of different missionaries in Haiti and help support two children that attend a school run by one of those missionaries and the last couple weeks have increased the amount given.
